Your Weekend

Two nights, just the two of you

Everything is arranged before you arrive — the tent is pitched, the fire is laid, the food is ready. All you need to bring is your daughter's hand in yours. What follows is the shape of your weekend: a rhythm to settle into, not a schedule to keep up with.

01
Monday · Arrival Evening

Arrive & Settle In

A soft landing. Your tent is already up and waiting — all you do is walk in and make it yours.

5:00pm

Arrivals & settling in

Your bell tent is pre-pitched, dressed and ready — find your spot, unpack, and let your daughter explore the site while you catch your breath.

Self-guided
5:45pm

Welcome circle

Every pair together by the fire — names, where you've travelled from, one word for how you're both arriving. Warm and unhurried.

All pairs
6:15pm

Free time to explore

Wander the field together, say hello to the fells, let your daughter choose where you go first.

Unstructured
7:00pm

Pizza night

Fresh dough, your own toppings, cooked over the fire — mum and daughter building pizzas side by side before eating together under the sky.

Communal meal
8:30pm

Fireside & opening du'ā

Hot chocolate, quiet conversation, and a short du'ā together before the first night under canvas.

Spiritual
Bell tents glowing at dusk in Borrowdale

Your home for the weekend — pitched, dressed, and waiting before you arrive.

02
Tuesday · The Full Day

Sour Milk Ghyll & Watercolours

The heart of the retreat — a hike that opens conversation, an afternoon that slows it right back down.

8:00am

Breakfast together

Laid out and waiting, eaten in your own time. Fuel up — today is the big one.

Communal meal
9:30am

Guided hike — Sour Milk Ghyll

Following the rushing white water up through the fells, at a pace that lets every pair walk and talk together. One of Borrowdale's most beautiful routes.

Guided · All abilities
Why this walk

Side-by-side walking has a way of loosening conversation that face-to-face never quite manages. It's why this hike sits at the centre of the weekend, not just the itinerary.

12:30pm

Packed lunch on the trail

Eaten with a view, part-way up the ghyll. Simple and satisfying.

Communal meal
2:00pm

Return to camp & rest

Back down to the field. Time to change, rest tired legs, and have a cup of tea before the afternoon begins.

Free time
3:00pm

Watercolours in the wild

Paints, water, and the fells stretched out in front of you both. No skill needed — just presence, and something to show for the afternoon.

All materials provided
5:00pm

Games on the field

Badminton, football and archery, set up and ready — pairs against pairs, or just for fun.

Sport · All ages
6:30pm

BBQ dinner

Halal BBQ as the sun drops behind the valley. The best of the day's conversation gathers around the fire.

Communal meal
8:15pm

Letters & firelight

A quiet moment to write a letter to each other — sealed, and opened together on the last morning.

Good to Know

Before you arrive

Food

All meals are halal and included — breakfast, lunch, dinner and campfire snacks. Let us know about allergies when you book.

Prayer

A dedicated prayer space is available throughout, with qibla marked. The day's rhythm flexes gently around prayer times.

The hikes

Sour Milk Ghyll and the valley walk are both paced for mums and daughters together — no hiking experience needed.

River & pools

Swimming and paddling are optional and always at your own pace — bring modest swimwear if you'd like to take the plunge.

Signal & screens

Mobile signal is limited in the valley — this is part of the point. We gently encourage putting phones away for the weekend.

Weather

This is the Lake District — pack for all conditions. We run whatever the weather, and the fells are beautiful in the rain too.

A Note From Us

"And We have enjoined upon man goodness to his parents."

Sūrah al-Ankabūt · 29:8

This weekend is a small, deliberate space carved out of busy lives — for the two of you to remember each other again, away from everything that usually pulls you in different directions. We can't wait to welcome you both to the valley.
